Time To Seal Your Stone Countertops?

Granite countertops should be resealed once each year, and marble countertops should be resealed twice each year. Resealing granite and marble countertops provides a layer of protection against everyday wear and tear as well as keeping contaminants and moisture at bay. Without resealing, stone countertops are vulnerable to color and structural changes that can impact longevity.
If it’s time to reseal your granite or marble countertops, you can easily do it yourself. We recommend using Miracle 511 Impregnator or 511 Porous Plus. Check out these step-by-step instructions for how to use, or give us a call at 913-481-2822.

Did you know that you can tackle some of the toughest spots on your countertops, floors and pots with surprising everyday items you most likely have in your pantry? Read on for House Beautiful’s super handy tips.
* For everyday wear and tear of your stone surfaces, buff away small scratches with superfine dry steel wool called “grade 0000″.
* Use Baking Soda to clean tile floors or a backsplash.
* Clean Cast Iron with Salt. (Add 2 tablespoons of oil and place on medium heat. Once the pan is heated, pour in 3 tablespoons of salt. Next, using a tong to hold a paper towel, scour until clean. Finally, rinse and coat with vegetable oil to cure. Done!)
* Shine wood floors with White Vinegar (nine parts warm water to one part white vinegar) for a cheap trick.
