Did you know Sophisticated Stone outfitted a cooking studio for a local Whole Foods grocery store?
That’s right. Sophisticated Stone constructed the surfaces for the cooking studio at the Whole Foods in Overland Park, Kan., further evidence that our products can stand up to heavy commercial use as well as everyday residential use.
Cooking classes and demonstrations are held each week and feature all natural foods free of artificial colors, preservatives, and flavorings.
Tonight at 6:30 p.m., the lesson focuses on kale, Missouri’s own superfood, and will include special guests from Bear Creek Farm, one of Whole Foods’ local vendors.
On Thursday, learn how to make nutritious whole-grain salads such as “Classic Tabouleh” with the proprietor of Wind Walker Farm, another Whole Foods food vendor.

Homeowners looking to add a natural, organic feel to their homes needn’t look any further than natural stone, such as marble, soapstone, quartz and granite. “While a granite counterotp may be cool to the touch, the rich variations in color and the movement of the stone through its veins add warmth and charm,” according to an article in Roc Now.
“It’s ‘living art,’” says certified kitchen and bath designer Dani Polidor, owner of Suite Artistry in Pittsford. “The more imperfections, the better.” And although materials from exotic woods to concrete may be gaining traction in the market, “Granite is still number one; nothing even comes close,” says Richard Doyle, owner of Bryce & Doyle in Rochester, NY.
Stop by the Sophisticated Stone showroom to see how you can make your kitchen a living work of art with our selection of natural stones.

"Tiles in the shower are cut from the same Alabama white marble used for the bathroom countertops; their large size and brick-pattern layout demonstrate a clever way to bring in a different texture without introducing a new material." Photo by Lance Davies.
